Ignite Sport “making a difference”

How exciting to get this email from Kevin Goldsbury the Director of Wellington based Ignite Sport.

“… It has been a little while since you last received news via email, but we are now back on track with much to report.

It was a privilege to be nominated for our local Hutt Valley Community Awards and then the Wellington Region Airport Community Awards late last year.

Even greater excitement for Ignite Sport to be chosen as the Supreme Winner (of the Regional awards) and going to represent the region at the Trustpower National Community Awards held last month in Invercargill.

This provided us with valuable exposure and a tremendous opportunity to mix and engage with other volunteer community groups and mayors from the various regions.

This experience has reinforced our strong commitment to develop Ignite Sport’s strategy and expand to other regions in New Zealand.

Our local work has grown considerably over the last two years with initiatives being delivered in several communities within our region.”

Kevin and his team are doing great things in their region in a number of schools and amongst a number of sports and you can see what they are up to here: http://www.ignitesport.org.nz/

This Community Awards recognition affirms the difference they are making. As they say on their website :

“The vision of Ignite Sport is simple… to positively impact New Zealand sports culture and provide opportunity for the people of sport to reach their God-given potential”
