A Christian sports media agency is bringing the sights, the sounds and the stories from the 2014 FIFAWorld Cup™ to sports fans around the world. British charity 2K Plus International Sports Media is producing a daily half-hour programme, from its base in Tijuca in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. With an international team of media professionals 2K Plus is producing radio material in English and Spanish to engage with sports fans during the World Cup. Altogether 2K Plus is serving over 1000 radio stations across Africa, Europe, North and South America and Australia.
Only a short walk away from the impressive Maracanã stadium the Planet Sport team are producing a wide range of radio and online programmes which will shed light on all sides the 2014 World Cup. From interviews with star players such as Falcao and Kaka who talk in depth about their Christian faith to speaking to chaplains from some of the national teams to get an insight into what support players need during this month long tournament.
“We will also be speaking with fans based in Rio from around the world about their hopes and fears for their team in this year’s tournament,” said Planet Sport reporter Andy Bloss. One regular feature of Planet Sport – Destination Rio is A Taste of Rio. These five minute segments explore the stories behind this vibrant city including some inspirational stories of faith from people in the city’s poorest communities and showcasing the work Christians are doing in Rio.
